Web site analysis

The web site I chose was Hilton hotels.com, because I look at a lot of hotel websites. The organization of the site is very neat and organized. I would classify it as being very Logos you can do what you need to right away, you can find a hotel, book a reward stay, or view a current reservation. The author is obviously an employee for Hilton. The audience is the Hilton Honors members and any potential guest. Since the Hilton family of hotels has a very diverse chain with everything from Hampton Inn which is budget, to The Waldorf Astoria collection of hotels which is ultra exclusive they can have a very wide range of audiences. The purpose is to try to gain loyal guests and show the quality of product they offer. They are also trying to advertise by the ad they have for what promotions they have going in a simple yet ornate box which you can click on for more information. The overall tone is one of quality and that travel should be more than just A to B, since you can earn double points when you stay with them. The site is not cluttered with links and pictures but just enough is present to retain attention. The more simple site makes it easier to get to the links you need. It just makes sense to have a site that is easy to navigate for guests.

Blog analysis

I feel that Teach.Writes blog is a very informative blog; it displays a sense of knowledge. It is not hard to look at the text, and it blends nicely with the background. It shows me that it is not someone out to impress me by how fancy and sophisticated they can get their blog, but that person wants us to get something out of their blog. With that being said the author would most likely to me be an educator of some sort. The pictures are not overwhelming either they don’t over the entire page, yet they are just enough to spark interest in that person. The attachments are logical as well and fitting to the material presented. You can get just from the layout that this person is a thinker by the entries on his blog. The haikus at the end just end the presentation nicely as well and cause it to end on a good note with something to think about.

Mother Tounge

Amy has two kinds of Englishes she speaks one is for with other people and speeches, while the other is for her mother. It was extremely hard for Tan to grow up with her mother’s poor speech; she was angered that people would take advantage of her because of the impartment since she was after all from Asia. It shows us how cold the world can be. The specific audience that is being targeted is the Asian and Anglo communities. She doesn’t want to see the Asian population limit themselves to science and engineering, but to go out and beat the statistics be creative, do the opposite society wants you to do. I feel the Anglos are targeted in this by revealing the cruel things that were done to Amy’s mom. The part when the hospital pretended they lost her CAT scan was really low and Amy had to come to her moms rescue. She also relates to other kids that are in the same boat, not to let society tell them what they can and can not do, which is what Amy over came.

Blogging will only become more popular as time moves foward. We have the ability to get our thoughts and emotions out there, to see what others have to say about what we are feeling. There are even communities of bloggers that are connected by what they blog eventhough they may never have met one another, their thoughts and opinions is what causes these communities to identify with one another. With this easy way of connecting there also needs to be great responsibility with so many out there who are violebt racists. But according to them they are allowed to speak their minds under United States law of free speech. When I see things that are racism related I think about how ingnorant those people are acting, and how foolish they are. When you think of how crafty these people that post these racist comments and to what lengths they will go to to get their point across, it is frightening. We can't stop blogging because a few people do wrong things with blogs, we just need to be careful ourselves. There is too much that can be learned not to blog. There is no way to stop the blogging mania so as long as we are careful we will be fine.
