Web site analysis

The web site I chose was Hilton hotels.com, because I look at a lot of hotel websites. The organization of the site is very neat and organized. I would classify it as being very Logos you can do what you need to right away, you can find a hotel, book a reward stay, or view a current reservation. The author is obviously an employee for Hilton. The audience is the Hilton Honors members and any potential guest. Since the Hilton family of hotels has a very diverse chain with everything from Hampton Inn which is budget, to The Waldorf Astoria collection of hotels which is ultra exclusive they can have a very wide range of audiences. The purpose is to try to gain loyal guests and show the quality of product they offer. They are also trying to advertise by the ad they have for what promotions they have going in a simple yet ornate box which you can click on for more information. The overall tone is one of quality and that travel should be more than just A to B, since you can earn double points when you stay with them. The site is not cluttered with links and pictures but just enough is present to retain attention. The more simple site makes it easier to get to the links you need. It just makes sense to have a site that is easy to navigate for guests.

The Hilton website is very logical in its set up. When I went to check it out, I noticed a pink promotional box reading “Travel Should Bring You Closer” to promote some valentine’s day special- pretty obvious pathos, right? The overall tone you describe of promoting their quality seems to point not only to logos, but also ethos. Good point about the simplicity of the site making it easy to use.

From you analysis, this website seems very well thought out and easy to use. I like how they advertise that traveling should not just about going somewhere, but experiencing things and getting closer to friends and family.

I didn't know Hilton owned the Waldorf Astoria. That would be incredible to visit. If you could visit one place in the world what would it be?
